We were on “the great RV trip”, sure enough, it became a trip that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy! We broke down so many times and spent more “quality” with mechanics than is natural. Of all the mechanics that we went to during the trip, Snider’s was by FAR the best. We came in with a broken flywheel, they took care of us with hospitality that is normally only reserved for really good friends or family. They finished the job quicker than we thought was possible (comparing to our experience with other mechanics). There’s an old expression for service: Fast, Good or Cheap — Choose Two… Well when it comes to Snider, you get all three. All the staff are fantastic, the shop is clean enough to eat of the floors and the service was extremely professional. Overall we give Snider’s 6 stars out of 5!
My Trans went out while I was in Chicago. The mechanic there told me it would be less expensive to install a used trans. They installed it but failed to check the trans oil circulation. By the time I crossed the Mississippi river my trans was gone. Fortunately, I found Snider’s West in Davenport. Scott Snider was awesome! He removed the trans and showed me all of the ground up gears while it was on the bench. Scott rebuilt it with better heavy duty parts than the factory installed. He showed me those also. Because Scott was so thorough in his work he discovered the trans oil was not circulating through the trans. He corrected the circulating problem that caused the previous two transmissions to fail. When I left Davenport for Colorado I was confident that the job was done correctly. My trip back was smooooth. My GMC SAFARI is probably good for a second hundred thousand plus miles. Thank you Scott for your integrity and expertly done work. You deserve to prosper!

Dear Scott, This past weekend we were in town for my parents 50TH Anniversary when our van had transmission problems. I called your after hours number and you promptly met us at your shop even though it was Sunday. When all was said and done, you were able to fix our van so we could return home Sunday night as planned. Thank you for the great service and going over and above the call of duty. My daughter bought a 2003 Taurus from Reynolds Motor in the Quad Cities. Three weeks later, the transmission went out and they basically told her to take a hike. We are not from the Quad City area, so had to do some checking to find a reputable repair service. After speaking with numerous repair locations in the area, settled on Snider’s West to do the repair for various reasons: they are members of the BBB and in my brief conversation with Scott, I felt very comfortable that this guy knew his stuff. We were NOT disappointed!! Scott said he’d seen this issue with Taurus’ dozens of times and he knew exactly what the issue was. They guarantee the parts and labor for a year, which is better than most places we talked to. I learned there is a torque converter issue with 2003-07 Taurus. This issue is on recall, but only depending on which plant the vehicle was built. My daughter’s vehicle wasn’t built at the “right” plant, but it was the same issue as the torque converters built in the “recall” plants. Scott helped me get the info we needed to submit a claim, and also file a complaint to the NHTSA safety recall people. We are hoping to get reimbursed at some point. But if that doesn’t happen, all I can say is Snider’s did everything to help us, fixed the car cheaper than quotes from other locations (because others wanted to replace the whole transmission, and Scott knew that it was just the torque converter that needed replaced). The car drives perfectly now and the peace of mind is there knowing that it was done right. These people are top notch, and are my daughter’s new go-to mechanic. Highly recommend!
I hooked up with Scott and Brad to take on a big project for my 57 Chevy. It took a bit longer then I hoped but in the end I feel it all turned out good. They put in a Blue Crate 383 Dual Quads air Power steering along with many other up grades too many to list. I was only to put on 100 miles before Winter hit. I’m very much looking forward to Springtime. I strongly recommend Snider’s to anyone. Thanks Guys and Kim
Sniders have performed a lot of work to prepare my Mustang for car shows that I like to enter. They installed many billet parts such as valve covers, pulleys, alternator, coils, plugs etc. To their credit I brought home a 1st place trophy this past weekend and many compliments on how under the hood looks. Had trouble with my rear differential making whining noise, knew it was bearing, dealership wanted a fortune to fix. Snider’s fixed it for 1/2 the cost that’s with a tyranny flush. Would recommend to everyone, quality work and fast turn around!! Thanks.
We had a “big box store” transmission installed about a year ago. The transmission never shifted right from the time it was installed. I took the truck to 5 shops in 4 different states and the problem still persisted. Finally, I was referred to Snider’s West. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it the same day. After all others had failed I am grateful for their professionalism.
